First quarter update – 2017

Health and human services sector


Thought Bubble has been supporting a number of organisations across the community sector to get ready for their quality accreditation.

Territory nursing tender

On back of helping Affinity Nursing secure the sole contract for Tasmanian agency nursing, we also assisted them with their Northern Territory tender submission.

Queensland Family and Child Commission

Thought Bubble has worked on a number of collateral pieces for the QFCC including ‘Myth Busters’ guide for child protection professionals and fact sheets for children and young people in out of care home.

Fourth quarter update – 2016

Health and human services sector

Department of Communities

Thought Bubble will be running co-design workshops and providing design and digital services for the implementation phase of the Department’s business intelligence portal.  This follows the earlier stakeholder engagement and performance communication strategy undertaken by Thought Bubble.

Philips Healthcare

Global brand Philips Healthcare has again engaged Thought Bubble to provide strategy and marketing communications services for its Hospital to Home ANZ program.

Family relationships advice line

Thought Bubble will be working with the Executive from Relationships Australia to scope and deliver a digital project that will improve the timeliness, quality and capacity of its busy national call centre.  Thought Bubble will be delivering workshops, scripting and support material.

Statewide nursing tender

We worked with a leading national nursing agency on a statewide bid for the Tasmanian health system. Our team has also been pre-engaged for the upcoming tender for similar services for the Northern Territory government.

Queensland Family and Child Commission

Thought Bubble has been re-engaged by this new statutory authority to develop a sectorwide Leadership Commitment Statement.

Primary industries

Biosecurity Queensland

Team Thought Bubble is working on a Biosecurity Queensland discussion paper soon to be released for public consultation. Biosecurity Queensland leads the Government’s efforts to prevent, respond to and recover from pests and diseases threatening agricultural prosperity, the environment, social amenity and human health.

Infrastructure sector


Thought Bubble is working with major infrastructure surveyors Exegen to develop a marketing and business development plan and website for the organisation. Thought Bubble has provided tender consultancy to Exegen in the past and this latest engagement will help the company plan its capture planning and growth strategies.


Department of Education & Training

Our team provided urgent proofreading and editing services to the Queensland Department of Education & Training for its 2015/16 Annual Report.

Tertiary Executive Education

The Thought Bubble business development team is working on a tender response for a leading tertiary institution’s commercialised business unit.

Third quarter update – 2016

Our third quarter of 2016 was heavily focused on major tenders, strategy and government work.


We’ve been head down working on a number of tenders ranging from Defence infrastructure to new regional family and domestic violence program funding and regional and remote nursing tenders. We were also advised of a successful tender outcome for a client appointed as a preferred supplier to an Australian Government department for workplace investigations.

Our dedicated team have been on call and responsive to requests from Queensland Government departments for quick turnaround for the design, print management, proofreading and editing of a range of Queensland Government publications, including Annual Reports.

Aged Care and NDIS provider approval

Thought Bubble assisted a community care organisation to attain approved aged care and NDIS provider status with consulting services spanning audit, review and preparation of documentation to meet stringent compliance standards.

Condon Treasure

In August, Managing Director Nyree McKenzie presented at the Condon Treasure bi-annual conference. 65 staff from the firm’s offices in Brisbane, Maroochydoore, Toowoomba, Roma, Charleville and Rockhampton attended the full-day workshop themed, “Walk a Mile in their Shoes” organised by customer experience experts Ferrets Market Reseach. Nyree’s session on client centric-culture and communications shared the findings of staff interviews facilitated by Thought Bubble and the culminating co-design of the firm’s internal communication strategy developed in collaboration with them. Team members came away with a clear understanding of their shared vision for the firm, along with a road-map and supporting tools, processes and technology innovations that will help them engage more effectively with each other, and with their clients.

Second quarter update – 2016

The second quarter of 2016 kicked off with Thought Bubble and its Director awarded with two Gold Stevie Awards (Business Development Company and Individual Achievements categories) in Las Vegas.  The awards attracted more than 2100 entries from 40 countries and were judged by more than 60 members of specialised judging committees. Thought Bubble was recognised for its consistently high tender success rate to secure major contracts for clients as well as our work to help them transition and mature their processes and workforces to manage their growth.

Thought Bubble has also welcomed two additional members to our team, giving us extended round the clock capacity. Both are Australians based in Europe with significant senior business development and communications expertise.

Thought Bubble has taken on several infrastructure projects and worked across the time-zones to deliver high quality submissions in compressed timeframes.


Communications and creative services

We have been very busy providing proof-reading and editing a number of Queensland Government policy publications including Advancing Education and School Attendance to design of a suite of community consultation documents for Housing and the writing and image curation of the Queensland Government’s Anzac Centenary ‘Salute’ magazine. 

Our strategic communications services have also been used by Department of Communities, Crown Law and private regional business advisory firm CondonTreasure for the development of communications and stakeholder engagement plans.

Our creative design services have been engaged once again for the next series of Queensland Country Life newspaper lift outs FutureBeef.

First quarter update – 2016

2015 was a busy year working on creative projects and helping to secure mega contracts for our clients, particularly in the health and human services sector. We’ve hit the ground running in 2016 on a range of projects to help improve front-line services – from child protection to nursing, the national disability insurance scheme and Department of Education. Here’s the run down for what we’ve got on the go for Q1 2016:

Child protection

Thought Bubble has one again teamed with Ferrets Market Research to lead the tender response on behalf of an NGO for state government funding for Intensive Family Support Services. The scope of work involves service modelling and design, strategy and documentation for North Queensland and Far North Queensland.

Department of Education and Training

Thought Bubble has been engaged for technical editing for strategic policy documentation and whitepaper into early predictors of early school leaving.

National Disability Insurance Scheme

Thought Bubble is assisting a community care organisation to attain approved NDIS provider status with consulting services spanning audit, review and preparation of documentation to meet stringent compliance standards.



Thought Bubble’s design partner The Project Room was commissioned by the department of Agriculture and Fisheries’ FutureBeef program  to produce a series of newspaper lift outs to appear in Fairfax Media’s Queensland Country Life newspapers. The scope of work involved development of new look and feel and typesetting of more than 90pp across four publications. Read our case study. FutureBeef is a collaborative program that brings the latest research technologies and best management practice knowledge, skills and training into the hands of northern beef producers. he initiative is led by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries with partners from the Northern Territory Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries, Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia and Meat & Livestock Australia.

Health and human services sector

ACAR 2015

A national healthcare company has engaged Thought Bubble to lead its 2015 bid for the Australian Government Aged Care Funding Rounds Home Care Packages QLD, VIC, NSW (homeless, Veterans, CALD and financial disadvantaged groups). Thought Bubble is also working with a market research firm to prepare geo-demographic profiles and special needs cases.

Philips Healthcare

Global healthcare company Philips Healthcare has seconded a Thought Bubble consultant to work on its Hospital to Home ANZ program.

Garrison Health tender

Thought Bubble is preparing the response to this Commonwealth tender for the provision of Garrison Health clinical standards and audit services.

Domestic and family violence response

To support the government’s action to end domestic and family violence in Queensland, Thought Bubble has been engaged to work on a program funding tender for a leading national not-for-profit organisation

Professional services


Global engineering firm SMEC has engaged Thought Bubble to provide coaching and mentoring to the Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne communications coordinators to develop an internal communications strategy to improve communication channels and engagement across their Australian and New Zealand operations.

Ashdale brand strategy

Ashdale is a provider of workplace risk management and investigation services and has a large public sector clientele. Thought Bubble has been engaged to develop a brand strategy and revision of its marketing collateral.

Business coach

Thought Bubble will be running a brand workshop in on the Sunshine Coast for a business coaching start up.


Though Bubble is providing global stadium designers Populous with strategic advisory and peer review for a major bid. The scope of work spans strategic workshops and peer reviews.


E-tail start up

Thought Bubble has completed industry research and a go to market strategy for an e-tail start up.

Legal services website

Thought Bubble has been engaged by a workplace relations firm to develop its new website.


Refinery Tender

This is a strategically important tender for a major industrial company to secure a four year contract for the supply and maintenance of dry hire plant and machinery. Thought Bubble is project managing and developing all non-price criteria responses for the company.
